AP Chemistry students celebrated the mole day by making Graham Cracker periodic table. It was a great exercise in team building, fun and learning. The jury is still out on the winning periodic table.

Great speakers, panels, Primary, Middle and High School Sessions around STEM education at 2015 NSTA STEM Forum
http://nstacommunities.org/blog/2015/03/26/meet-the-people-behind-the-2015-nsta-stem-forum-and-expo/ Here is an interesting blog from a teacher friend of mine- Charu Gulati. I have always wondered about the idea of the ownership of learning. Would love to hear your thoughts.
https://cgulati.wordpress.com/2013/11/14/who-owns-the-learning/ Here is an article I wrote on our blended classroom model. This article is published in The Teacher magazine on Australian Council of Educational Research website. I would love to hear your comments.

Podcast on NPR Science Friday on Generic v. Brand Name Drugs: Connection with our Quick Ache Lab9/19/2014 As I listened to this podcast on Science Friday about the "sameness" in the generic v. brand name drugs, I could not help but think about our Quick Ache Relief lab and the chemistry references in this podcast. Listen to this podcast http://sciencefriday.com/segment/09/12/2014/the-science-of-sameness-developing-generic-medications.html (13- 15 minutes) or read the related article on this link. Look for the chemistry connections- mass spectroscopy, bio equivalence vs. physical or chemical equivalence. Don't you wonder if it is worth paying the extra dollars for a brand name v. generic medicine? Is it worth it? How do they even measure the equivalence of generic drugs v. brand names. Find the answer to all these questions and see the chemistry connections. Chemistry all around you!
